This book is a wonderful resource to help kids pray the Stations of the Cross. It’s packed with detailed illustrations of each scene, references from Scripture, further explanation of the scene and reflection on what the people were doing and experiencing, a prayer asking for the virtues we learn from the Station as well as the prayer by St. Alphonsus Liguori and excerpts from the 13th century Latin hymn to Our Lady describing her experience as she suffered alongside her Son. Further insight into the Scripture (including foreshadowing prophecy from the Old Testament) and additional detail about the Catholic Devotion of the Stations offer deeper participation and understanding of this journey with Jesus through His Passion.

My Perfectly Imperfect Prayer from the Heart

Even if I meander or hesitate, stumble or stutter, my words from the heart are more valuable than meticulously planned, rehearsed, or recited prayer, because the words are my own.

This is our monthly summary of crafts and family traditions related to the Monthly Devotion, Key Feast Days and the appropriate Season of the Liturgical Calendar. As our kids get older, our activities and commitment to Catholic crafts has changed and adjusted (at least for our tween, teen, and young adult kids)! While we haven’t exactly been adding a lot of Catholic crafts around here, we do enjoy pulling out the crafts and programs we’ve developed over the years, sometimes sharing them with younger families in our parish!

Well, THIS Be Yourself: A Journal for Catholic Boys could NOT have arrived at a better time!

Adam is fully immersed in school online and even sneaking on Minecraft with his buddies at recess! While he still enjoys Lego and he’s becoming a great reader, we are looking for other activities to lure him away from screen time and what better way than to get him journaling within his Catholic Faith!
