St Cecilia was born to a wealthy family. Her father promised her hand in marriage, but she had already made her vow to Christ. She convinced her new husband to let her keep her promise and he was converted to Christianity, along with his brother. All three were martyred for their Faith.

Flaming Mini Cross Bow
OK, so I know it’s a bit of a stretch to think up a good Equipping Catholic Families reason to make this Mini-Cross Bow. This is all I’ve got:
- It’s a cool project…making me a pretty cool mom for suggesting it and providing the instructions and templates to make it.
- It kept two 13-year old boys busy for 3 or 4 hours, honing their crafting and inventive skills with nary a need for first aid: not even one glue gun burn or X-Acto knife cut. Well done, boys!
Although they were unable to actually fire flaming matchstick arrows with any precision, I’m wondering if with some extensive aiming practice and zero wind conditions one might be able to torment the squirrels enough to keep them away from the soffits of our house. Wishful thinking, I know.
Prayer-Loom Prayer Book for treasured First Communion gift from the whole family!
I enjoy making meaningful, homemade gifts…especially when I think they will help immerse kids deeper in the Catholic Faith. As Catholics, we have a rich Tradition to pass along with many classic Catholic prayers…and awesome Saints to inspire and guide us.
DIY Paper Patio Lanterns in less than 60 seconds
With so much celebration this month, we’ve been making cheap and easy decorations to use over and over across our continued Easter celebrations…three more family birthdays, High School Arts Night and maybe even our First Communion party all in the month of May!
Egg Carton Saints: Mother Mary
Yesterday, I posted about crafts you can make on a SNOW DAY and I was blown away by some Egg Carton People made over at Michele Made Me.
Today, I bought the TWO tutorials that Michele offers…and the only thing holding me back is I don’t have enough empty egg cartons!
SNOW Day!
Well, we’ve got an unexpected stay-at-home SNOW DAY! … and we’re looking for things to do with stuff we already have at home!
I propose 7+ Catholic Recycle Crafts!

The Family Handprint Jesse Tree
I will admit it. We have been raising Catholic kids for 17 years and up until this year, I have never really had a Jesse Tree.
In fact, as I prepared my review and giveaway of these awesome Jesse Tree Treasures, I had a number of “what are those?” questions. The kids have made their share of single ornaments at school over the years, but we have never jumped in on this tradition at home.
Saints Timeline (for visual learners!)
Last week was a big week, with the launch of our TWO NEW Saint Scripts Cathletics Craft Kits!
42 Saints in all, presented with brand new Kelly Comics illustrations, Saint stats and brief bios.
There is so much to tell you about these kits, and I knew I couldn’t tell you everything in my launch post last week.
Easy Prayer Boards
As Catholics, we have no shortage of classic, beautiful prayers and devotions and I think it’s important to build our repertoire of prayers as family or in a classroom. That’s why we created the All Season Prayer Bank.
