All Saints! Review: Holy Traders Activity Kit

I’ve been a fan of Holy Traders Saint Trading Cards for quite some time and I was excited to discover that there are now SIX sets of cards available!

I was also excited to discover that there is now a comprehensive Holy Traders Activity Kit available through Seton…and even more excited to have the opportunity to review it, receiving my own Holy Traders Activity Kit in exchange for my honest review.

Feast Day Fun St Padre Pio

Feast Day Crafts and Activities

Excerpts from A Treasure Chest of Traditions for Catholic Families , various posts at Equipping Catholic Families and our Saint Scripts Craft Kits (Series ONE and TWO).

St Padre Pio is an amazing saint, with his stigmata, dedication to hearing confessions, ecstasy and conversations with Jesus and Mary.  His biggest influence on us has been his relationship with his Guardian Angel, a friend he conversed with throughout his entire life…and his confidence in all of our Guardian Angels, to pass along messages and nudge us to do what’s right.

Catholic University CarePack

Today we are moving Emily into University, 4.5 hours away! (Yes, in Canada…we use the word University…the way Americans use the word College)

While there is no shortage of things to do, plan or pack, I’ve been distracting myself this week by compiling her first University Care Package. This is the first time we’ve sent a kid off to live away from home, so I’m learning as I go and I reserve the right to make additions to this initial Catholic Care Package (like Tiny Saints!)…and will likely send many more care packages in the months and years to come!

YOUCAT Review

I have been wanting to check out the Youth Catechism for a while and Ignatius Press graciously sent me a YOUCAT for review! You can get your copy of the YOUCAT at Ignatius Press.

I really like this paperback book and I think it will be an integral part of the University Care Pack I put together for my daughter as she leaves this week for University, 4.5 hours away! (We’re Canadian…and we use the word University the way Americans use College. We do have Colleges too…but there are generally some distinctions between the two.)

How about Rome for the Feasts of St Padre Pio and St Therese?

wooHOO!

I was already SO excited…but even more so since I received the official itinerary this week!

Summertime Reading!

I don’t have a kindle, but I do purchase kindle versions of books because I enjoy reading them on my ipad. I like being able to crack open my ipad wherever I am and start reading from my library of book…waiting for an appointment or to pick up the kids somewhere. These are Amazon affiliate links…and I could earn literally dozens of cents if you click on them and buy one or two…thanks for your support!

First Reconciliation Prep or Refresher: Either Way, A Great Little Book about Confession!

With four kids who have now made their First Reconciliation, I have seen a wide range of First Reconciliation resources offered through our Parish, our school and many Catholic conferences.

Bridget made her First Reconciliation last November, but I’d like to take her for her Second Reconciliation this Easter….just before she makes her First Communion this May!

2 Pope Books…as we await the Big Day!

I was so happy to receive these two little books for review from Franciscan Media. True to their titles, they are great, short biographies of Pope John Paul II and Pope John XXIII.

With under 50 pages, each 6″x5″ book offers a nice review of each Pope’s life, showing how the events of their lives shaped their values and priorities and how their leadership and teachings as Pope have shaped our Catholic Church and Faith.
