Catholic University CarePack

Today we are moving Emily into University, 4.5 hours away! (Yes, in Canada…we use the word University…the way Americans use the word College)

While there is no shortage of things to do, plan or pack, I’ve been distracting myself this week by compiling her first University Care Package. This is the first time we’ve sent a kid off to live away from home, so I’m learning as I go and I reserve the right to make additions to this initial Catholic Care Package (like Tiny Saints!)…and will likely send many more care packages in the months and years to come!

ALSO: See the Basic Edition Catholic Survival Kit  below…it’s perfect for students!

University CarePackSo this is what we’ve got in our Catholic University CarePack!

(Some of these things like the Bible and the Custom Happy Book are things that Emily has already packed separately, but they are too important not to mention!)

1. Saint Joseph Bible-NABRE-Medium Size, given to Emily on her Confirmation day by her Aunt and Uncle. It even has her name engraved on the cover!

2. St. Benedict’s Crucifix, blessed by one of the priests at St Benedict’s Monastery. I have one that I have carried or worn during some of the most important and trying times of my life!

3. Pinterest Prayer Book or you could make the PrayerLoom Prayer Book: FREE tutorials! Add your favorite prayers and holy cards!

4. YOUCAT for easy reference for what we Catholics believe: check out my Review of the Youth Catechism!

5. St Therese Mug from Catholic to the Max: This is a great evangelization tool…and one that Emily requested on her own!

6. Consoling the Heart of Jesus: Prayer Companion From the Do-It-Yourself Ignatian Retreat: I love the full edition of Consoling the Heart of Jesus: A Do-It-Yourself Retreat- Inspired by the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, but I have a feeling the condensed book will be of better use to Emily while she’s at school.

7. St John Paul II Pillowcase from Prayer Pillowcases: See my Review of Prayer Pillowcases! Also a great evangelization tool…and one that Emily requested on her own to Catholicize her dorm room!

Bonus: Custom Happy Book, inspired by a book I made for my own University days…but scrapbooked by Emily herself. Emily has been adding favorite pictures, magazine clippings, event tickets and messages from her closest family and friends.
