It just occurred to me that I might not be the only one who needs a little restart this Lent! With March Break this week, some of our Lenten resolutions have fallen to the wayside.
I have however, been prayer journaling again and I think some of our new tools in the Arma Dei Shoppe have been helping!
How easy is it to forget the moments of Grace we’ve received in the past when the present flurry of activity and concerns are pressing in. The truth is that I have recorded these moments of grace, these soft and reassuring, concise and emboldening messages gently placed in my heart. They’re all carefully transcribed in various prayer journals. Each prayer journal was diligently filled over time

{August27} Feast Day Fun: St Monica!
St Monica is remembered as having a stressful life, between her ill-tempered husband and rebellious son! Through persistent prayer, sacrifice, patience and gentleness, St Monica’s husband converted before he died. Her rebellious son Augustine was also converted and became a bishop and saint and is recognized as a Doctor of the Church. With patience, gentleness and persistence, St Monica reminds us to pray for others, even when they are difficult to get along with …and resistant to changing their ways! She offers us hope in our prayer for those who stray from Jesus.
So… the Rosary is a remarkable prayer tool and devotion and I know many people who credit the Rosary for answered prayer and family blessings. Countless pope, saints and priests have encouraged us to say the Rosary, citing the Graces. Our Lady herself promises that her Immaculate Heart will indeed triumph, especially with increased dedication to this daily devotion. For years, I’ve heard the beautiful graces attached to daily recitation of the Rosary, especially said as a family.
I tend to zone out a little watching the news and I absorb political news about as much as I retain medical details. Not very well.
I’m just not that opinionated. I have to push myself to be critical when writing book reviews and it takes me a little time to decide if I really like the movie I just saw..or maybe just the event of watching a movie in a big dark theatre and eating popcorn with quiet kids.
