Prompt Me to Pray…through ADVENT!

Prompt Me to Pray by Monica McConkey

Many of you joined us in our excitement this past summer with the release of my new book Prompt Me to Pray! We have been honored and humbled by incredible feedback from so many people across North America who have told us that this book has actually changed the way they pray!

Prompt Me to Pray by Monica McConkey presents practical tips for prayer that can be easily customized to fit our busy lives, habits, daily tasks, and even our struggles. Recognizing our littleness as an inexhaustible source of Prompts to Pray helps us to reach out humbly in prayer when we need Him most and reminds us that God can use all things for good.

Monica shares the Prompts to Pray that she has discovered as she pursues consistent, heartfelt prayer and a personal relationship with Jesus.

The book features different approaches to heartfelt prayer including journaling and praying out loud, both spontaneous and classic prayers. Woven throughout are journaling pages with specific writing prompts and prayers to customize your own personal plan for prayer. Prompt Me to Pray also includes a prayer vault of classic prayers and templates of full color pocket prayer prompts.

And now, we’ve carved out a new application of Prompt Me to Pray!

Prompt Me to Pray through the Seasons, the Saints and the Sacraments!

We’ve been thinking about the Liturgical Seasons, the Communion of Saints, and the Seven Sacraments and the specific experiences and graces they bless us with. We’re pretty sure that these special moments can help us to pursue holiness and to grow in our prayer lives! By associating prayer with these unique circumstances and graces, we can turn them into extra timely Prompts to Pray!

We’re creating a series of Easy Quick Guide PDFS, applying Prompt Me to Pray: A Practical Plan for Consistent Prayer from the Heart to the Seasons, the Saints, and the Sacraments!

We’ve briefly introduced our  Quick Start Guide: Prompt Me to Pray with the SAINTS, and here we’re excited to introduce the Quick Start Guide:

How can we enter more deeply into Advent?
By entering more deeply into prayer: praying consistently and from the heart.

What makes the weeks of Advent different from other weeks of the year?

Whether you like to decorate your house for Christmas the day after Halloween or not, the Christmas decorations, displays, and music in stores and the lights in your neighborhood, are probably already up. There are “Happy Holidays” greetings, inflatable Santas, holly, bows and wrapped presents as props everywhere you go. The Christmas event invitations are coming out, shopping lists and wishlists are growing and steady reminders and the countdown to Christmas, pick up stress on their way.

How can we dig deeper into Advent, when the focus around us is so predominantly Santa and his elves? What if we use the prevalent secular reminders to refocus our Advent, gearing our excitement towards the Birth of Our Lord?

Prompt Me to Pray through Advent offers a few suggestions of how to use the signs and celebration during the four weeks before Christmas as prompts to pray for hope, peace, joy and love through the Birth of Jesus.

Prompt Me to Pray through Advent will help you to use the sometimes overwhelming and premature celebration of Christmas as prompts to pray!

The PDF is formatted for easy printing at home and can easily be tucked within the pages of your copy of Prompt Me to Pray.
