Quick Bio: St. Josephine was branded by slave owners with 114 scars on her body. She forgave the slave traders who kidnapped her and those who tortured her saying: “I would kneel and kiss their hands, for if that did not happen, I would not be a Christian and religious today. The Lord has loved me so much. We must love everyone.”
Quick Bio: St. Gemma lost her mother when she was eight years old. She looked after her own siblings and eventually became a nanny for two other families.
St. Gemma’s brother died when she was 16 years old and her father died just three years later, when she was 19 years old.

As our kids get older, our activities and commitment to Catholic crafts has changed and adjusted (at least for our tween, teen and young adult kids)! While we haven’t exactly been adding a lot of Catholic crafts around here, we do enjoy pulling out the crafts and programs we’ve developed over the years, sometimes sharing them with younger families in our parish!
Magnify 90 is a program that taps into this awesome book of daily devotions while challenging women to give up various attachments for a period of 90 days. The idea is that by living a simpler life with fewer distractions, we may delve deeper into our spiritual life with Scripture and Catholic Spiritual Reading, practicing the virtues we’re learning about and pursuing deeper prayer in our personal relationship with Jesus.
We just took down our tree…on the Solemnity of the Baptism of the Lord: the last day of the Christmas Season. Sometimes we feel a little down when the official Christmas season is over. It’s hard to jump enthusiastically into Ordinary Time, because it sounds so, well, ordinary!
