Jesse Tree Treasures for Christmas!

Christmas Treasures

A few weeks ago, we showcased our Jesse Tree Treasures and hosted a giveaway of the beautifully crafted 28 piece set.

Each wooden disk has a beautifully painted image representing the Scripture leading to the Birth of Jesus.

We have been enjoying the process of adding one Jesse Tree ornament a day to our new HAND-made Jesse Tree banner.

O Antiphons close upI hope to add SEVEN special buttons to the same banner in time for December 17-23, when we add an O Antiphon ornament each day, along with the Jesse Tree ornament. This set of 7 O Antiphon ornaments was another gift from Jesse Tree Treasures.

The O Antiphons each highlight a title of the Messiah:

O Sapientia (O Wisdom)

O Adonai (O Lord)

O Radix  Jesse (O Root of Jesse)

O Clavis David (O Key of David)

O Oriens (O Rising Sun)

O Rex Gentium (O King of the  Nations)

O Emmanuel.

The first letter of each one (beginning with the last) combines to create the Latin words “ero cras“, meaning

“Tomorrow, I will come.”

…yet another way to express that Jesus is coming soon!

More information about the O Antiphons can be found here.

We also look forward to talking about the Symbols of Christmas and this little gold bag holds TEN of them.  I know my kids will like to play with these…I’m pretty glad that the bag has a drawstring for in-between story times.

Another gift from  Jesse Tree Treasures!
