Cross Catholic Outreach Art Show!

Art Show Outreach

This Christmas season, Catholic Inspired, Cross Catholic Outreach and other Catholic Bloggers including Equipping Catholic Families are teaming up to empower kids to help the poor while using their artistic talent. Kids of all ages will be able to participate in an online art show from now until December 31st, 2013. Parents, family members and friends will make donations on behalf of their artwork to Cross Catholic Outreach. All proceeds will feed impoverished children and families in El Progreso, Honduras at the Prince of Peace Nutrition Center.

The Art of Giving

In Honduras, one in every four kids suffers from chronic malnutrition. Deprived of food, shelter and love, these poor children lie awake at night praying for their next meal. But there is hope– Catholic kids across the US are reaching out with the love of Christ to feed their friends in Central America through The ART of Giving, an online art show.

This event is similar to a “walk-o-thon” but kids create art instead of walking, so I like to call it an “art-o-thon”! Any child can create a work of art, take a picture of it (or scan it), and send the picture in an email. The name and age of the child who created it should be included in the email or written clearly on the image.
Then, once the image is visible on the Art Slide Show the child may ask family and friends to donate on behalf of the their artwork.

Here are the easy steps:

  • 1. Kids will draw, paint, color and use their imaginations to create artistic masterpieces!
  • 2. Submit a photo of your child’s artwork, name and age to mpotter@crosscatholic.org. As we receive photos, they will be posted on this site, below.
  • 3. Participants will encourage friends and family to visit www.crosscatholic.org/theartofgiving to make a donation on behalf of the submission by typing the child’s name in the comment field upon making a donation.
  • 4. Watch as your creativity makes a difference in the name of Christ!

Please help support this event in any way you can, through creative art or with a donation!

A number of wonderful Catholic bloggers will be hosting this event:
Jennifer from Catholic Inspired
Monica from Equipping Catholic Families  hey, that’s ME!
Birgit from Designs By Birgit
Please be on the look out for future blog posts from all of these Catholic Bloggers. Next week we will also be posting about our children’s art…and then we will be giving all other bloggers the opportunity to join in a link-up and share the art that their kids have created for this event!
