St Gianna was a wife, mother and medical doctor. When she and her husband were expecting their fourth child, the doctors discovered that she had cancer.  Refusing any surgery that would hurt the baby, St. Gianna insisted that they save the life of her baby before her own.  Seven days after the birth of the baby, St. Gianna died.
