I will always remember the first Mass I attended on campus when I was in Architecture school. An enthusiastic young priest celebrated the Mass on the Feast of Christ the King!
He told us that Jesus is the King…and WE are King’s Kids. We have dignity and identity in Him!
We are royalty…
and Jesus the King wants to keep us close!
Jesus is the King…and He wants us to be a part of His Kingdom!
I thought that it was a perfect time to crack out our Wooden Painted Saints, along with the set I painted of our family members. I picked up this little Fisher Price castle at a Thrift Store for $3 a couple months ago and I love watching Adam at play, with his siblings, parents, grandparents and uncle mingling with Jesus and the Saints.
I think that this little playset could be a great little backdrop for our family dinner for the Feast of Christ the King!
Have a Royal Dinner…sporting hand-made crowns made of paper, felt or painted doilies, or cut from plastic recyclables and adorned with fake jewels.
With Christmas already upon us in the stores…you could easily purchase the classic crackers with the little tissue crowns…ready to wear!
Fancy plates and goblets, napkins and table settings add the royal touch.
I’m sure there are plenty of fancy food ideas available for princess parties and royal-themed dinners, but we just might go with roast beef and yorkshire pudding!
