Kids QuoteBook

Kids say and do the funniest things.  We think we’re going to remember who said what when, but as the kids get older, it’s amazing how their antics can blend together!  Writing down the funny things they say and do at the time is the best!  The fridge calendar can be just that handy place to record all the little gems that you’ll be glad you captured.  Every once in a while…I have transposed those little dated moments in cute little dollar store books:  one for each child.  I have recorded first words, dates the teeth came in or out and monumental “firsts”.  I know which kid said “to da-vity and beyon’!” (quoting Buzz Lightyear), who challenged potty training “mommy, your job is not my problem!” , who sang “ring around the rosary” and who was my only kid to fall asleep on the toilet…so far.

Anyone want to share any of their own favorites?

Okay…here is one I NEED to write down: while playing some wild boy-style game with a brother, my 9 year old fell down, got back up and walked about 10 feet. He then fainted and fell into the baby gate and got a nasty black eye. I took a picture of him, and when he looked at it for awhile, he stated, “Well, it was kind of my own fault. I shouldn’t be doing super-human stunts.” I am so blessed that we home school and they are always around me–even if we have a lot of chaos with the current 7 children! LOL!

  2. I love this idea! I often second guess who said what! Now that the kids are getting older it is harder to remember! I am stopping in from NOBH.

  3. Thank you for the great idea, and for linking up to NOBH. I wish I had written down all my little man’s funny sayings and doings. Have a wonderful day.
