Celebrating Catholic Family and Faith with crafts, Catechesis and traditions!
I know it will be wonderful! I will have to be content with experiencing it vicariously through Mike and Sue Denz and St Gemma’s Catholic Pilgrimages and the news coverage on TV and online. I will however be experiencing an awesome pilgrimage to Rome September 22-October 3, 2014 and I’m already SO excited!
Here are a couple reminders of some of our activities for Holy Week
Palm Sunday…and every day of Holy Week: Egg Carton Passion Play
An Egg Carton backdrop for Jesus’ Public Ministry and Passion Play with Wooden Painted Saints.

I’m sure I’ll be posting more detail about the over 15 ways to use this kit…but for now I’ll give you 7 Quick Peeks!

As recently as yesterday, I was considering replacing my blog with scrolls sent out by couriers on horseback: a little more expensive, but hardly any plugin or hosting problems.

We are experiencing some technical difficulties. Please be patient with us. If you see any of the following screens or missing pictures, please hit ‘refresh’ and the page might return to normal.
Recently, I painted our family members using the same little wooden dolls I paint for the Wooden Painted Saints. The kids have been enjoying playing with the whole collection of saints and family members and we have found them in various predicaments…in every corner of the house.
We’re about HALF WAY through LENT! How are your Lenten resolutions and programs going? Are you doing any of the 40 Ways for 40 Days?
Some of our resolutions and Lenten practices have been difficult to sustain and I am reminded once again for the need to recommit and refocus…each of these 40 days of Lent! Looking ahead to Easter…I remember that
With four kids who have now made their First Reconciliation, I have seen a wide range of First Reconciliation resources offered through our Parish, our school and many Catholic conferences.
Bridget made her First Reconciliation last November, but I’d like to take her for her Second Reconciliation this Easter….just before she makes her First Communion this May!
Afraid so.
Here are some of our coolest Catholic Crafts (I thought!)…that haven’t received much attention!
Advent and Lent Quest now has THREE different themed paper chain link sets: one with family prayer challenges, another with Year of Faith Catechism and another with Saint biographies. Despite its’ name, Advent and Lent Quest is great all-Liturgical Season-round and can be used as a countdown (or count-up?) activity towards Christmas, Easter or ANY favorite Feast Day! In fact…this craft kit will be GREAT for the continuous stream of celebrations for the 50 Days of Easter! Keep the Season going with Advent and Lent Quest!
