Celebrating Catholic Family and Faith with crafts, Catechesis and traditions!
I was so happy to receive these two little books for review from Franciscan Media. True to their titles, they are great, short biographies of Pope John Paul II and Pope John XXIII.
With under 50 pages, each 6″x5″ book offers a nice review of each Pope’s life, showing how the events of their lives shaped their values and priorities and how their leadership and teachings as Pope have shaped our Catholic Church and Faith.
I just recently painted our family on wooden pegs, complete with Grandpa, Grandma and Uncle Steve.
I’m actually working on another special craft to use with the Wooden Painted Saints for Holy Week and I’ve had a lot of helpers eager to paint…and entertain the little painted peg people.
With 5 kids from almost 18 years down to almost 4 years, we can experience a range of ‘firsts’ all in one week!

When we submitted A Treasure Chest of Traditions for Catholic Families to a couple publishers, we were a little disappointed that the only publisher interested in working with us wanted to remove any talk about sin or Lent. Needless to say, that meeting launched us into a wonderful self-publishing adventure of Catholic conferences, Catholic Bookstore tours and old-fashioned cold-calling. Over the years we have added many products including our line of over 30 Cathletics Craft Kits and we have been excited to offer free Catholic crafts and traditions here at Equipping Catholic Families.
Just like the Weight of the Cross Lenten Activity, this Heart Cross Banner helps us identify our sins. The little hearts are added to record the good deeds and the virtues we practice in thanks for Jesus’ Suffering for our sins.
It’s healthy to teach our kids to recognize their sin. Preparing for First Reconciliation, a child learns the Act of Contrition, recognizes what sins they struggle with and seeks to overcome them with God’s Grace. Printables for a Prayerful Lent! **2017 Update**
1. Stepping Stones through Jesus’ Life: Step through the key moments of Jesus’ Life as presented through Scripture.
2. Lenten Calendar: The Lenten version of the Advent Calendar, this banner or pocket-filled poster offers a Scriptural quote or reflection, virtue taught by Jesus or a moment from his life, represented through Bible verses, drawings or small props.
