I know, right? what a great word: Papabili!
Papabili: (Italian, plural of papabile,
meaning “pope-able”)
It is a term used to describe cardinals who are considered likely or suitable candidates to be elected pope during a papal conclave. While not an official designation, it reflects speculation or consensus among observers, journalists, or insiders about who has the qualities, experience, or support to become the next pontiff.
While formating our very exciting, brand new
Papabili Craft kit
featuring 147 Cardinals,
any of whom could very well be elected,
through the wisdom and power and brilliance
of the Holy Spirit to be our next Holy Father,
I have become acquainted with so many holy Cardinals! I have been listening to podcasts, reading articles and watching youtube videos with commentary about the upcoming Conclave, but most of all I am compelled to pray, pray, pray for the Holy Spirit to pour down the Graces to inspire and influence the conversations, preaching and presentations and ultimately the voting for the next Holy Father in the upcoming Conclave set for next Wednesday, May 7th!
I have been studying the prominent Cardinals and their assignments over the last couple of Conclaves, checking out which Cardinals were ordained by Pope Francis, Pope Benedict XVI and Pope John Paul II, listening to the commentary about particular Cardinals’ leanings, and influences, considering how long ago each holy man was named Cardinal and how old the oldest living Cardinals are, which cardinals are no longer eligible to vote and how young the youngest Cardinals are and after all that
…obviously I have NO idea
but I am fascinated and captivated, and blown away by the monumental events coming up to determine our next Holy Father and the direction of the Holy Catholic Church!
Here are the youngest Cardinals in the Conclave

Here are some of the most influential Cardinals who have just outgrown the opportunity to vote in the upcoming Conclave, with the exception of Cardinal Sarah, who turns 80 on June 15!

I’m looking forward to learning more about these 147 Cardinals, and the process of the Conclave and most importantly, I know we need to PRAY for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit to enkindle hearts, and inform and guide the 133
voting Cardinals and inspire our Holy Catholic Church!
Have YOU joined in and are you praying the Novena for the Papal Conclave?
