Saint Cookies with Catholic Curio Cookie Cutters

I just really love the saints, and…I’ve been eye-ing these Saints Cookie Cutters from Catholic Curio on Etsy for a while! I decided to make my first real purchase on Etsy and when I told Caitlin and Andy about this blog,

they loaded up my box with extra cookie cutters and these awesome Archangels engraved pencils  (I’m sure that you will see more of them soon!)

With St Patrick’s Day and the Feast of St Joseph so close together this week, we just had to give these awesome Catholic Saint Cookie Cutters a try!

So I enlisted our resident baker (is there anything this girl can’t do?) 12 year old Bridget to make the butter cookies.

She ended up making a lot of Saint cookies using the Mary, Joseph, St Nicholas and Happy Nun stamps.

We had fun decorating the cookies…and we did our best with Nutella for the brown details, homemade icing, a little food coloring and some ziplock bags.

Today, I decided to get these bold color icing tubes from Bulk Barn and just one set of decorator tips. I improvised a little, using ziplock bags for a finer tip.

It would seem that there’s a learning curve with cookie decorating. These are not exactly Martha Stewart callibre… but they really are fun to make!

Your kids did a great job in cooking and decorating the cookies. You are giving me ideas to do this also with my children. Thank you so much.
