Over the last year, I have released a number of Prayer related craft kits: the Prayer Impressions Journal Stamps, Lock Screen Prayer Prompts and Prayer Prompt templates in a number of Prayer Journal Craft Kits.
After the release of my first official eBook A Little Way to Pray last December, I’ve been working hard to practice the prayer prompts and have discovered a few more things!
- Actually printing out the Prayer Prompts as little cards to post around the house (and in the car!) has been an effective way to integrate them more fully throughout my daily routine and I have heard from many of my readers that this has helped them as well!
- Installing a Lock Screen Prayer Prompt has helped me to pray every time I pick up my iPad. I would install a Lock Screen Prayer Prompt on my phone…but I don’t actually have a phone as of yet. I know, I think I’m the only one!
- There are many ways to pray and while some Catholics gravitate towards casual conversation with Jesus, many Catholics rely quite heavily on the traditional prayers and devotions. It’s worth reiterating: those short and quick phrases included as prayer prompts in A Little Way to Pray and the Prayer Prompts Craft Kit can comprise the actual words that you say in prayer…or they can offer a springboard to praying your own heartfelt words in prayer.
- While I briefly mentioned prayer prompts based on visual cues, pet peeves, daily habits or tasks, waiting queues, I have only been diligently practicing a few of them. I think it’s important to not be too ambitious, committing to every kind of prayer prompt for constant prayer! Choose one or two that seem to fit your life and focus on them to prompt you to pray!
- Recently, when I was facing a little extra stress and anxiety, I learned something integral to effective prayer! While I’ve been taught that the effectiveness of our prayer does not rely on or become apparent through our feelings, there is something we can do to make our prayer more deliberate and consoling. I’m going to call it the track changer and I wrote about it here: Track Changer: Game Changer for Prayer
