Equipping Catholic Families…to live liturgically this LENT!

Can you believe that Ash Wednesday is just next week? Every year I start off in pursuit of the best Lent evaa (queue any one of my kids quoting Matt Kelly) and I start out with resolutions for giving up things, taking on things and elaborate programs for my kids. This year will be no different, although I feel a little better prepared!

I actually can’t believe that it has taken me this long to offer a specifically LENT craft kit like this one I launched last week: Hands-On Lenten Pack of Prayers

The Hands-On Lenten Pack of Prayers Craft Kit includes coloring pages for the Stations of the Cross, the Rosary and the Divine Mercy along with specific prayer counter tools for each of the classic devotions including:

  • Stations of the Cross Spinwheel
  • Rosary Prayer Counter
  • Divine Mercy Prayer Counter.

Once laminated, the craft templates accommodate both lace-up and dry erase (coloring) prayer counting.

The kit also includes 17 illustrated prayer cards including classic prayers as well as Lenten prayers for the Days of the Week.

Purchase the Hands-On Lenten Pack of Prayers Craft Kit here.

Our classic Advent and Lent Quest has been around forever and even though it has THREE different paper chain templates (Catechism, Prayer and Saints), my kids are getting a little too cool for paper chains, so we might just have to invent a new way to use those templates.

My contribution is the Easy as Abacus Stations of the Cross Kit!

This Cathletics Craft Kit (PDF) offers prayers and clipart to customize a Stations of the Cross Abacus made from a Dollarstore square framed canvas. The strung Pony beads are perfect for little fingers to count the 14 Stations of the Cross.
Includes several templates for the Stations of the Cross including a coloring page and summary sheet PLUS BONUS: Divine Mercy clipart to make a Divine Mercy Abacus with accompanying prayers and a coloring page!

Here’s a video from The Mass Box showing how to make one of our Easy as Abacus prayer counters!

  1. Holy Spirit, you who makes me see everything and shows me the way to reach my ideal, you who gives me the divine gift to forgive and forget all the wrong that is done to me and you who are in all instances of my life with me. I, in this short dialogue, want to thank you for everything, and affirm once more that I never want to be separated from you no matter how great the material desires may be. I want to be with you and my loved ones in your perpetual glory. To that end and submitting to God’s holy will, I ask from you..(mention your favour). Amen

This prayer should be said for 3 consecutive days. After the 3rd day, your sincere wish will be granted no matter how difficult it may be. Promise to offer thanksgiving by sharing it and expressing it on granting of your favour. The idea is to spread the wonder of the Holy Spirit.
