Papabili: (Italian, plural of papabile,
meaning “pope-able”)
is a term used to describe cardinals who are considered likely or suitable candidates to be elected pope during a papal conclave. While not an official designation, it reflects speculation or consensus among observers, journalists, or insiders about who has the qualities, experience,
or support to become the next pontiff.
