Rome-ward Bound!

Rome 2013

I have been holding back, with only a few status updates on Facebook about my exciting news…and a harmless blog button linked to an awesome opportunity.

Friends of ours, Mike and Sue have been leading pilgrimages to Rome and they are sponsoring me as their official Catholic Blogger to join them for this chance-of-a-lifetime!

That’s right!… I am going to Rome this November/December to celebrate the canonization of Bl. John Paul II and Bl. John XXIII!

They were there to see Pope Benedict.

They watched the white smoke announcing the new Pope.

They were there to greet the new Pope Francis in St Peter’s Square.

Mike and Sue have been doing their research and they are arranging two possible dates for the canonization pilgrimage:

November 18-27 2013 OR December 1-10 2013

The Vatican expects to release the official date for the Canonization… in September!

One way or another…I’m going to ROME in a couple months!!

I’m a big fan of Blessed Pope John Paul II…read about how JP2 received my book and why we were accused of standing up the Pope!

Over the coming months I’m going to write about my preparation for a pilgrimage…and everything I can learn about Rome (I’m starting to recall 2nd Year Architecture History class!), Blessed Pope John Paul II and Blessed Pope John XXIII.

I’m also going to learn about St Gemma and I’ll be writing about her soon!
