So happy to finally share pictures from our recent adventure in California!
As part of our 25th Anniversary this year and our good friend Fr. Roger’s 30th Anniversary of Ordination, we went on a pilgrimage through San Franciscso, San Jose and Santa Cruz. We stayed at THE BEST Air Bnb in the middle of the Redwood Forest, only a 15 minute drive to beach!
We visited three Mission Churches: San Juan Bautista, the Carmel Mission Basilica (with the Tomb of San Junipero Serra) for Sunday Mass and Santa Clara and Our Lady of Peace Shrine
Daily Mass, either at a Mission Church or in our Airbnb, celebrated by Fr. Roger!
We drove inland and were fascinated by the San Luis Reservoir.
The drive along the coast to Big Sur was beautiful and we enjoyed many stops along the 17 mile Drive in Pebble Beach.
We also explored Santa Cruz and San Francisco!
Here’s our video of our adventure!

I loved researching all the Mission Churches with this book I received in return for my honest review, from Franciscan Media. It offers detailed historical information about each of the 21 Mission Churches, as well as the particular Patron Saints, a guide through the grounds including information about the state of the Church and various buildings and renovations, nearby sites, reference photos, founding dates and more!
