Chasing Castles and Conquering Cliffs

I was on an Austrian Adventure last month!
We went to visit the birthplace and two towns my Dad grew up in before he came to Canada when he was eleven. We explored Cathedrals, Castles and Mountaintops!

Fun fact about my son, Joseph. He has always been my Castle-Kid. He always loved all things medieval: he was winning the Markham Fair with his elaborate drawings of castles, complete with strategic stick figure armies in battle. He loved swords and armor (I mean what little boy doesn’t?). And he was reading books about castles (and Lord of the Rings!) …and any stories that took place in castles and/or medieval times.

I was also always fascinated by castles and dreamt of visiting them one day. And older than I care to admit, I was building custom castles out of Lego, and building a bucket list of castles to visit.

So Joseph and I went on a whirlwind tour of Vienna, Graz, Schladming, Altmunster and Salzburg…and we snuck in a special adventure to see Neuschwanstein; the castle I have always wanted to see.
